Trigeminal Neuralgia treatment at our Neuro Spine Clinic

Given below is a detailed description of Trigeminal Neuralgia treatment at our Neuro Spine Clinic:

Overview

The condition trigeminal neuralgia is derived from two words Trigeminal and neuralgia. The Trigeminal is the largest cranial nerve out of 12, which carries sensation to the face and helps motor chewing and biting. Neuralgia refers to the sharp shooting pain that occurs due to nerve damage. Hence, trigeminal neuralgia is a condition that arises due to injury of the trigeminal nerve that causes acute shooting pain in the face.

Symptoms:

Here are some of the significant symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia:

  1. Recurrent and spontaneous pain attacks get aggravated by triggers like shaving, talking, even eating or drinking.
  2. Episodes of pain where pain feels like an electric shock and becomes unbearable for the patient.
  3. Pain that takes place in bouts and may last from a few seconds to several minutes.
  4. Feeling of constant pain and burning sensations which most of the tie change into spasm-like pain.
  5. Pain in cheeks, lips, gums, and other areas that are supplied by the trigeminal nerve.
  6. Pain is felt on one side of the face at one time. There are sporadic chances when the patient feels the pain on both sides simultaneously.
  7. Focussed pain, which occurs on a particular spot on the face.

When to consult a doctor

Suppose recurrent facial pain is experienced, which comes and goes and is very spontaneous. In that case, the best thing to do is consult the specialist to find out the diagnosis and start the treatment accordingly.

What are the causes of trigeminal neuralgia?

Here are some of the causes of trigeminal neuralgia:

  1. Age: Advancing age is one of the primary causes of Trigeminal neuralgia. Causes that result in damage to the myelin sheath, which otherwise protects the nerves, results in trigeminal neuralgia.
  2. Disruption of trigeminal nerve function caused by pressure being put by an artery or a vein is also responsible for trigeminal neuralgia in an individual. A tumor compressing the nerve can also lead to the condition.
  3. Brain lesion, surgical injuries, or stroke may also lead o trigeminal neuralgia.

What are the factors that trigger the condition?

Certain factors trigger trigeminal neuralgia:

  1. Drinking
  2. Eating
  3. Touching the face
  4. Talking
  5. Putting on make-up
  6. Many others

Our treatment model:

  • At our JPRC Neurospine clinic, we treat this disease with the most advanced, modern, and effective method.
  • Radiofrequency neuromodulation is the newest minimally invasive technique in modern neuroscience.
  • Its essence lies in the impact on the lesion focus with high-frequency waves.
  • The method does not provide for a rough intervention on the body.
  • The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.
  • After this, a lengthy recovery period is not required.
  • The pain goes away immediately after the procedure.

Recoveries:

For the first time in Jaipur, India, the radiofrequency destruction and neuromodulation of the trigeminal nerve branches were performed by our interventional pain physician and neurosurgeons at the JPRC Neurospine clinic.

We have been helping patients with neuralgia to get rid of their pain for 11 years.

From day one of JPRC, there are already hundreds of such happy people.
